"I am Ben Thornbury (15), and I started 'Helping the Community of Malmesbury' four years ago to encourage many to volunteer around Malmesbury, UK to improve the lives of the people of the community. We pick up the litter, clean car parks, parks, or streets, and cut hedges that are overgrown that obstructs wheelchair users to pass by on a regular basis.
When the COVID-19 lockdown began, I created a support website for people to get help with food delivery, dog walking, and a range of other services. Within an hour of creating the website, I had over 60 volunteers. The response and support were overwhelming. We helped many vulnerable people get through lockdown days comfortably. A proud moment for me was when the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom awarded me with the Points of Light Award.
Kindness to me is doing something with a smile on your face that would benefit others directly.
You Humanity pays respect and gratitude to Ben Thornbury for going above and beyond to contribute towards Humanity.
