During the lockdown, Amanda's Action Club supported parents and kids through fitness workshops

"I have always loved making children happy. I feel I have that special bond with kids. Hence, I have combined my qualification in sports with my love for children and started fitness sessions curated for kids in London. This is a unique concept - I incorporate the usage of several props such as pompoms, instruments, streamers, and music to create fun-filled workshops for kids.

My name is Amanda Frolich, and I am the proud founder of Amanda’s Action Club. The club promotes a healthy lifestyle among children through interactive fitness sessions.

During the initial workshops, I was offered to conduct these workshops at birthday parties. I was so excited that I readily accepted the offer. I am now famously known as 'Children’s Celebrity'.

The sessions comprise warm-up exercise, aerobics, and dance. Kids start with choosing a prop bag that has several activities. We perform the activities from one bag, encourage kids to tidy the mess before starting the activities from a new prop bag. This ensures that kids also learn the importance of cleaning up after playing. I believe that children move better when adults move with them. Therefore, active participation from parents is highly encouraged in the workshops. To end the session, we practice Yoga and perform a goodbye song.

During the initial COVID-19 lockdown, even though I had to stop my workshops, I was not ready to give up. I pivoted my business and started taking free virtual sessions at first and then started charging a pound. The lockdown was definitely hard for each one of us but it was the hardest for kids. In fact, schools are still shut in many countries. Parents were struggling to keep their children busy and entertained.

The reactions that I received were overwhelming. From the feedback, I set up an app from where parents could buy the props and DVDs of my sessions. This way, the kids from around the world could get the experience of my workshops right from their home. I received feedback from a mother of an 11-year-old autistic boy. She mentioned how the workshops have helped her son immensely during this phase.

I am also in the process of working on a very exciting project, which is to create a little girl character, called Action Amanda, for an animated global TV series for kids. Action Amanda eats healthy from an early age and exercises regularly to stay fit. Moreover, I have been producing music for children to keep their spirits uplifted during this tough phase. Additionally, I have contributed towards writing a chapter in the book 'The Law of Brand Attraction'. It was published during the pandemic, and the money raised was donated to a charity that supports children’s mental health.

I have been working with a little boy, named Christopher since he was 4 months old. He is one of the most active and healthy kids in my sessions. Seeing his fitness at this age, I am extremely happy with the outcome of my sessions. COVID-19 has helped me understand that I could reach a wider audience with so much of ease. My mother always taught me to treat others in the way I want to be treated. And I guess this is how I reciprocate."
